THE PROPERTY Moloa'a Valley is a very rural valley, and there are only a few scattered homes up and down the road on large lots which adds to the feeling of seclusion you will experience here. Skippers is surrounded by lush vegetation, accented by the melodies of tropical songbirds. In addition to palm trees, you will find several types of banana and other fruit trees for your enjoyment.

THE BEACH And oh, the beach! The highly-rated Moloa'a Beach is an easy five minute walk, and since this golden sand beach is off the beaten track, you will often find yourself the ONLY one on the expansive sands. Whether you are into swimming, snorkeling with colorful schools of fish or sun tanning - you will love Moloa'a Beach. Hollywood loved this beach when they chose it for the pilot episode of "Gilligan's Island" (which helped us with the name of our cabana!).

LOCATION Looking at a map of Kauai, you will find Moloa'a Valley in the upper right hand section of the island--centrally-located for easy access to all the fun things there are to do on this tropical paradise. Skipper's is the best of both worlds - rural beauty, yet close to civilization. Excellent shopping and restaurants can be found 15 minutes in either direction on the highway from Skipper's.

In a word, it was perfect. My wife is a tough customer when it comes to interiors and she was blown away at how tasteful, relaxing, fun, and well-though-out the place was. Every time we needed something, it was there. It had a great tropical feel and the surroundings were rejuvenating, including the cats and chickens. We enjoyed being there so much that we hardly bothered to eat out and just grilled fish about every night. We watched movies and just hung out and enjoyed time as a family (we must have watched Scooby Doo and the Ghost Pirates 7 times!). When we left for the last leg of our trip, for which we stayed at the Hyatt, we were seriously sad and depressed to be leaving our home away from home. We would stay there again in a second and recommend it highly to anyone considering a vacation to Kauai - especially if they have kids and want a more relaxing atmosphere than expensive resorts & restaurants.
