Just steps to both family friendly Poipu Beach state park and the world famous body surfing Brennecke’s beach, you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Nihi Kai 506 is a jewel in the crown of Kauai’s Condo Rentals. 1660 sq feet of luxurious and relaxing Island living for your family to enjoy. On the main level you will be welcomed by an open plan great room with living room and dining room combined that flows into a newly remodeled kitchen. Off the kitchen is an large Lanai with views of the lush gardens.

The kitchen was completely remodeled in 2006 and everything replaced with up to date appliances and cabinetry. The great room features a 50 inch DLP television, sleeper sofa, desk with computer and high speed internet access, so even though you are away from home you can still feel right at home. The extra large main lanai with sliding glass doors has rich garden views, which afford you a lot of privacy.

The lower level of this spacious Poipu Condo features two master suites each with its own large lanai, closet and bathroom. We have provided fine linens for you to sleep on obtained from one of the most exclusive hotels in the world. The master bathrooms are extremely spacious and airy. Opposite the hall bathroom you will find your laundry center featuring a washer & dryer unit. There are ceiling fans throughout this Kauai Vacation Rental, and the Island breeze flows naturally through, providing the perfect cooling effect.

The grounds of the Nihi Kai Villas in Poipu are some of the most beautiful and lush you can find on the island. The Oceanside pool features a main pool and a family friendly kid's pool, clean bathrooms and plenty of shaded areas. There are 2 BBQ areas in the complex, (one large that is close to the pool featuring 2 built in BBQ’s and a large covered hale with 2 tennis courts, the another at the top of the complex, a single BBQ, but that one is always less busy).

Area Information:

Poipu Beach is located in Koloa, an old Sugar Cane Plantation Town located on the South side of Kauai. The beach areas of Poipu can be split into 3 distinct areas.

Poipu Beach State Park, which is very family friendly with a children's playground, plenty of shade, picnic tables, and a protected beach on one side no more than 3 feet deep. The bathrooms are clean, and there is a freshwater shower to rinse off. Here you can relax on a crescent shaped beach, snorkel with the kids or grab a great shave ice at Brennecke’s Beach Side Deli. At Brennecke’s you can also get a nice lunch, grab some sunscreen of refresh yourself with a cold drink. Next door you will find all your boogie board supplies, and surf gear at Nukumoi Surf Co. Surf Shop. The sunset from here is picturesque and most days a protected green sea turtle or rare Monk Seal will stop by to visit.

Brennecke’s Beach, just a few steps from Poipu Beach, is where all the boogie boarding action can be found. It has waves that travel to the beach and from the beach, and right to left, sometimes all at the same time which can make for a great ride! There are no facilities here, or shade. Get here early for a good spot.

Shipwreck Beach is located a 10 minute walk from Poipu Beach, and has some amazing views. The beach is in front of the Hyatt hotel, which is great for a thirst quenching Mai Tai! The beach is not too crowded as the pools at the Hyatt are so nice you don’t want to leave them. This is not a swimming beach.

Restaurants and Shopping:

Adjacent to Nihi Kai Villas you will find a wonderful Italian restaurant called Casa Di Amici. These other restaurants are all near by: Roy’s, a gourmet, pacific fusion restaurant, Plantation Gardens, American, Brennecke’s Beach Broiler, American, Beach Broiler, American, Beach House fine dining right on the ocean, book before you arrive! Tide Pools at the Hyatt is another spectacular dining location surrounded by a lagoon. Keoki’s Paradise in the Poipu Shopping village and the nearby Joe’s on the Green are must sees also.
The Poipu Shopping Village is close by and has 2 restaurants, and plenty of stores to browse. Before you arrive in Poipu make sure you stop by Costco in Lihue to get you supplies for the week. There is also a Walmart and K-Mart in Lihue.

Activities:

There is so much to do on Kauai, but here are a few suggestions: Napali Coast with Captain Andy’s, Zip Line tour and the Tubing adventure with Kauai Backcountry Adventures (book early, before you leave to Kauai), Kayak the Wailua river, Fern Grotto, Queen Emma’s Bath on the North side of the island and Waimea Canyon to name a few.
