Kauai brushfire burns 100 acres near Koloa resort

Kaua'i County firefighters tonight are monitoring hotspots from a brushfire that burned more than 100 acres today in Koloa near the Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.
Battalion Chief Shawn Hosaka said the firefight started between 3:30 and 4 p.m. in an area adjacent to the resort's Robert Trent Jones 18-hole golf course. Firefighters have the fire contained and will monitor the situation overnight, Hosaka said.
There are no reports of injuries or property damage, said Hosaka.
