Alaska Airlines starts Hawaii flights
Alaska Airlines began nonstop service between Honolulu and Seattle Friday, with nonstop service to Kauai beginning later this month.
The airline, a subsidiary of Seattle-based Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK) announced the service in May, when it also said it will begin flying from Anchorage, Alaska, to Hawaii in December.
Service to Lihue, Kauai from Seattle begins on Oct. 28 and service from Anchorage to Honolulu begins Dec. 9. The airline uses Boeing 737-800 airplanes that seat 157 passengers.
