Hanalei Bay Resort Frequently Asked Questions

Hanalei Bay Resort:

Can I walk to the beach? Yes, a paved path leads to a large and lovely white-sand beach just below the resort. This is a great beach for sunning and snorkeling. The Princeville Hotel operates a restaurant here and you can also rent sea kayaks when the bay is calm. The walk down to the beach is about 8-10 minutes or you can have the bellman shuttle you down and back in shuttle (golf) carts.

Does the condo have a good view? The view is spectacular from all our units! The picture on each unit's page is the actual view you will see from the condo.

Is the condo a timeshare? No, the units on this site are all owned as second homes by the individual(s) named on the unit's information page ... outright ... all 52 weeks.

Will I notice any differences renting from you or renting directly from the resort? No, as the guests of an owner, you have the same license to use all the resort's amenities as do guests of the resort operator. An advantage to renting from a private owner through SummitPacific is that you get to see pictures and read descriptions of the actual unit you are renting before you make your reservation. The resort operator will only be able to tell you the type of unit you will be renting.

Do we get to use the pools, hot-tub, and tennis courts? Of course you can, and at no extra charge. You might also want to sign up for some tennis lessons.

How Close Is Hanalei Bay Resort to the Princeville St. Regis Hotel? Very close. The two properties are exactly adjacent to each other and little more than a stone's throw away...well okay if you've got a really good arm... However, each property sits on its own bluff and a deep ravine separates the two. Guests easily walk back and forth, or shuttle, using each property's beach access. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from HBR down the beach path to the Princeville's pool; there you can take their elevators up to their lobby, restaurants, conference rooms, etc. Keep in mind that walking back up to HBR is a steep hike in dress shoes; you might consider calling HBR's bellman to meet you at the bottom of the hill for a free ride up.

What are the Resort Fees? In addition to what you pay the owner to rent their unit, Hanalei Bay Resort charges a one-time, Check-In Fee of $50 per reservation. This is charged upon your arrival. Can we walk to the town of Hanalei from the Resort? Although Hanalei Bay Resort is quite close to the town of Hanalei as the crow flies, it is a long walk. Hanalei Bay Resort is located in the community of Princeville which is on a bluff. The Hanalei River also separates the two areas. The easiest way to get to the town of Hanalei from Princeville is by car. It's about an 8 mile drive on a two lane road, down the bluff and across the Hanalei Bridge. The beach below Hanalei Bay Resort is on the northeast corner of Hanalei Bay and very close to the Hanalei Pier. However, you can only walk as close as the mouth of the river. As long as the river isn't raging, it's just a short swim (or deep wade) to get to the other side.
