Waipo`o River

The Waipo`o River seems calm and serene as it makes its way down from Alakai Swamp at the top of Waimea Canyon. Seen here in May during an unusually dry period, the stream is little more than a trickle as it makes its way down several waterfalls and calm pools just moments before plunging hundreds of feet into Waimea Canyon.
