My husband and I lucked out on our first trip to Kauai, finding the Hanalei Bay Resort and Condo #4202, with comfortable plantation decor and designer touches, sitting right at the top of the beach path. After a day or two of enthusiastic touring, it felt so good to come home that we spent more and more time on our own lanai, watching the change of light and clouds, and walking down to the beach for some snorkeling. We expected to eat out a lot, but ended up cooking most of our meals at home, shopping for fresh fish and veggies at the local markets, eating breakfast in our jammies and lounging on the sofa after dinner. We like making most our own plans, but for booking tours, the concierge service was friendly and fast. By the time our week in paradise came to an end, we felt like we were leaving our own second home. Where would we go next time? Same place!

We rented Unit 4202 directly from the owners, the Spitz's'. From the beginning, they were a joy to deal with. But nothing prepared us for walking into that condo. It is BEAUTIFUL, extremely well-kept, completely up-to-date, and the view is to kill for!!! We never wanted to leave. If we get back to Kauai, we will not stay anywhere else. In fact, if we go back to Hawaii, we will only go to Kauai and stay here. This is the real Hawaii. If anyone is debating staying in unit 4202, please feel free to email me with questions.
